The Sentul station recorded the highest rainfall at 363mm, Gombak (247mm), Jinjang (258mm) and Sungai Bonus Jalan Tun Razak (273mm).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Besides Kuala Lumpur, other <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nst.com.my\/news\/nation\/2021\/12\/756068\/floods-over-34000-victims-evacuated\">states affected by flash floods<\/a> are Selangor, Perak, Negeri Sembilan, Melaka, Pahang, Terengganu and Kelantan, according to the National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"ez-toc-container\" class=\"ez-toc-v2_0_50 counter-hierarchy ez-toc-counter \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>According to NADMA, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.malaysiakini.com\/news\/603883\">41,418 victims have been evacuated to 405 relief centres<\/a> or <em>pusat pemindahan sementara<\/em> (PPS) as of Dec 20 at 12 noon. Here is an update of the situation in each flood-affected state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Selangor\"><\/span>Selangor<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Its capital, Shah Alam, is almost paralysed when many areas have been affected by floods. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utusan.com.my\/terkini\/2021\/12\/73-jalan-lebuh-raya-ditutup-di-selangor\/\">73 main roads in Selangor were closed<\/a>, with many other districts still experiencing severe floods today, such as in Kuala Langat, Klang, Hulu Selangor, and Subang.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Sadder still, a report as of Dec 21 at 3 pm states that a total of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.astroawani.com\/berita-malaysia\/banjir-17-korban-nyawa-di-selangor-menteri-besar-337617?fbclid=IwAR2OUe4drsmoHfRIaEBqMUVVZKIgpBbzXtCdj4VXv2rSsWaATfuGoKnprBA\">17 individuals, including a volunteer, have passed away due to floods in Selangor. <\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pahang\"><\/span>Pahang<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The flood situation in the state is worsening, and the number of victims continues to rise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sinarharian.com.my\/article\/179041\/BERITA\/Semasa\/14-korban-banjir-direkodkan-seluruh-negara\">report<\/a>, Pahang has recorded six casualties while four others are still missing due to mud floods in Telemong, Bentong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kelantan\"><\/span>Kelantan<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nst.com.my\/news\/nation\/2021\/12\/756068\/floods-over-34000-victims-evacuated\">The number of flood victims<\/a> continued to rise at 6 pm on Dec 19, when 4,324 people from 1,065 families sought shelter at relief centres. The flooding affected Kuala Krai, Gua Musang, Pasir Mas, Jeli and Tanah Merah districts.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Negeri_Sembilan\"><\/span>Negeri Sembilan<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Floods hit <a href=\"https:\/\/wartarakyat.com.my\/index.php\/2021\/12\/19\/banjirsembilan-pps-dibuka-di-negeri-sembilan\/\">five districts in the state<\/a>, namely Seremban, Port Dickson, Rembau, Kuala Pilah and Jelebu. As of Dec 19, 9 PPS are available in the state to accommodate 358 flood victims.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Terengganu\"><\/span>Terengganu<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Most of the water levels of the main rivers in the state are at normal levels except at Sungai Kemaman. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.astroawani.com\/berita-malaysia\/banjir-17-korban-direkodkan-di-seluruh-negara-337534\">The level of the river at the Paya Paman pump house<\/a> recorded a height of 4.45 metres. The level is above the danger level of 4 metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Kuala_Lumpur\"><\/span>Kuala Lumpur<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The situation in Kuala Lumpur is improving as heavy rains in most affected areas have ceased and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nst.com.my\/news\/nation\/2021\/12\/756068\/floods-over-34000-victims-evacuated\">floodwaters have receded<\/a>. The government will expedite the payment to the recipients in the flood-affected areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Emergency_leave_to_civil_servants\"><\/span>Emergency leave to civil servants<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has agreed to give <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thestar.com.my\/news\/nation\/2021\/12\/19\/floods-govt-agrees-to-give-emergency-leave-to-civil-servants-affected-by-disaster-says-ismail-sabri\">emergency leave to civil servants affected by the floods<\/a>, announced the Prime Minister.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Prime Minister encouraged private sector employers to take a similar initiative on the condition that there should be no deduction to the staff\u2019s annual leave or salary. The Prime Minister noted there is no law to force employers to provide paid leave in such circumstances.
