Besides damaging houses, furniture and appliances, the floods severely affected many vehicles. Due to the unusually severe floods, <a href=\"https:\/\/mycsr-flood.my\/index.php\">the General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) estimated the total flood-related insurance claims at around RM2 billion to RM3 billion<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As part of PIAM&#8217;s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative, the association has set up PIAM Flood Relief Fund with a contribution of offers subsidies to eligible policyholders whose vehicles were affected by the recent floods, requiring a mechanical clean-up at a competent workshop. According to PIAM&#8217;s statement on January 7, 2022, the <a href=\"https:\/\/piam.org.my\/blog\/2022\/01\/07\/piam-rm2-4-million-csr-flood-relief-fund\/\">subsidies are only for mechanical clean-ups, not repairs<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The subsidies are only applicable for mechanical clean-ups such as engine components clean-ups. <strong>Subsidies are not provided for normal car body clean-ups<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Subsidies_amount_subject_to_vehicle_type\"><\/span>Subsidies amount subject to vehicle type<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The one-off payment subsidy for each vehicle is as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Motorcycle (up to RM100);<\/li><li>Private vehicle (up to RM500); and<\/li><li>Commercial vehicle (up to RM500)<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Note that the subsidy is based on an actual clean-up cost and is subject to the prescribed limit for each vehicle type. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For instance, if the mechanical clean-up cost of your private vehicle is RM300 (including the SST), the subsidy given will be only RM300. However, if the mechanical clean-up cost is RM700, the subsidy will be only RM500. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Who_is_eligible_to_apply_for_PIAM_Flood_Relief_Fund\"><\/span>Who is eligible to apply for PIAM Flood Relief Fund?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This subsidy is available for every vehicle that fulfils the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Vehicle type:<ul><li>Motorcycle;<\/li><li>Private vehicle; and<\/li><li>Commercial vehicle<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Motor policy type:<ul><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bjak.my\/blog\/types-of-car-insurance-policies\/#Comprehensive_insurance\">Comprehensive policy<\/a> <strong>with<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/bjak.my\/blog\/car-insurance-add-on-special-perils-cover\/\">Special Perils Cover<\/a>;<\/li><li>Comprehensive policy <strong>without<\/strong> Special Perils Cover;<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bjak.my\/blog\/types-of-car-insurance-policies\/#Third_party_fire_and_theft_insurance\">Third Party, Fire and Theft policy<\/a>; and<\/li><li><a href=\"https:\/\/bjak.my\/blog\/types-of-car-insurance-policies\/#Third_party_insurance\">Third Party policy<\/a><\/li><\/ul><\/li><li>Motor policy status:<ul><li>Valid motor insurance at the time of the flood;&nbsp;<strong>or<\/strong><\/li><li>Expired motor insurance at the time of the flood but the vehicle was last insured on or after June 1, 2021<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_to_claim_from_PIAM_Flood_Relief_Fund\"><\/span>How to claim from PIAM Flood Relief Fund?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>You can submit your claim online via the portal <a href=\"https:\/\/mycsr-flood.my\/submit-claim.php\">MyCSR-Flood.my<\/a> <strong>beginning January 15, 2022<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In order to apply for the fund, you need to provide essential information as follows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(a) Policyholder&#8217;s name;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(b) Contact number;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(c) Email address (if available);<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(d) NRIC number\/passport number\/business registration number;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(e) Vehicle number;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(f) Banking details for claim payout purpose;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(g) Vehicle type;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(h) Date of loss\/damage;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(i) Claim amount (capped to the subsidy amount allocated for each vehicle type);<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(j) Pre- and post-clean-up photographs that clearly identify the vehicle; and<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>(k) Receipt\/Cash bill issued by the workshop<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For policyholders&#8217; convenience, <strong>a claim form is not required<\/strong> for this purpose.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can check your claim status within 14 working days after submitting your claim by <a href=\"https:\/\/mycsr-flood.my\/contact-us.php\">contacting your insurance company<\/a>. Your insurance company will also notify you of your claim status. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Additionally, your claim payout will be credited directly to your bank account if your application is successful. If you have provided your email address, you will also get an email notification upon payment completion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please note that your insurance company&#8217;s decision of the successful processing of your claim is final, and no appeal will be entertained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Can_you_claim_for_more_than_one_vehicle\"><\/span>Can you claim for more than one vehicle?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Yes.
