The road tax exemption for vehicles for OKU will also take effect from January 1, 2022.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div id=\"ez-toc-container\" class=\"ez-toc-v2_0_50 counter-hierarchy ez-toc-counter ez-toc-grey \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Transport minister <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/wksbmenglish\/posts\/493814842115075\">Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong<\/a> said the motor vehicle licence exemption only applies to full EV vehicles. For motor vehicles not specially modified for OKU, the exemption only applies to Completely Knocked Down (CKD) vehicles and national cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Wee, eligible motor vehicles must be registered and licenced under the particular OKU. The OKU must also be registered with and have a valid OKU card issued by the Social Welfare Department (JKM). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Wee added they also <strong>extend the motor vehicle licence exemption to motor vehicles registered or owned by registered OKU parents or guardians and have OKU children and disabled spouses registered with JKM<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Road tax exemption application for motor vehicles for OKU will begin on March 15, 2022.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"eligible-vehicle-owners-who-have-obtained-a-road-tax-after-january-1-2022-but-before-the-application-opening-date-can-get-a-rebate\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Eligible_vehicle_owners_who_have_obtained_a_road_tax_after_January_1_2022_but_before_the_application_opening_date_can_get_a_rebate\"><\/span>Eligible vehicle owners who have obtained a road tax after January 1, 2022, but before the application opening date, can get a rebate<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Eligible vehicle owners who have obtained a new or renewed their motor vehicle licence after January 1, 2022, but before the application opening date <strong>for either exemption<\/strong> are eligible for a rebate. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The vehicle owners or representatives may visit any JPJ counter to surrender their road tax.
