There are traffic offences that are non-compoundable during the Hari Raya Aidilfitri period<\/a>, according to Transport Minister Datum Seri Wee Ka Siong.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These offences are driving on the emergency lane, using a handphone while driving, failure to observe the red light signal, queue jumping, and speeding,<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wee said the offenders need to appear in court to settle the non-compoundable offences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He addressed this during the launching of a road safety campaign and Ops Bersepadu in conjunction with Hari Raya Aidilfitri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He said the heavy vehicles will be banned during the respective time on Hari Raya Aidilfitri- from April 30 to May 2, and May 7 and 8. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThe prohibition aims to reduce the risk of road accidents due to traffic flows involving heavy and light vehicles. This is apart from preventing traffic jams.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Additionally, 2,000 JPJ enforcement personnel will be on duty during this Ops Hari Raya Aidilfitri. The officers will go undercover as express bus passengers and enforcement-based station monitoring at 14 major locations along highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inspection of express buses through the pre-Hari Raya Ops would be conducted from April 25 to 28. It will involve 75 depots and 28 main bus terminals throughout the country. This is to ensure the roadworthiness of express buses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
