 PLUS Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) has called upon motorists to follow its Travel Time Advisory (TTA) schedule for Hari Raya. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The TTA is a schedule for Klang Valley folks returning to their hometowns from April 29 to May 2.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Operating Officer Datuk Zakaria Ahmad Zabidi urged the public to plan their journeys to avoid traffic congestion. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is the first time after two years of the implementation of the movement control order (MCO) that Malaysians are allowed to return to their hometowns to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAs such, we expect two million vehicles to use the highway daily during this festive period. This is a 25% increase compared to the 1.6 million vehicles a day using our highways.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cGiven this, we expect congestion and prolonged travelling time. We advise people to abide by the TTA issued to plan journeys.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zakaria said motorists can expect long journeys if they choose not to adhere to the TTA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cThis is based on the festive season travelling pattern simulation for motorists coming from the north to Klang Valley. They may experience journeys of up to 10 hours. This is two times longer than the average journey if they enter the highway after 9 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cMeanwhile, the journey from the south to Klang Valley may take more than seven hours. This is twice the duration, in comparison to the average journey if they enter the highway after 9 am.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe advise highway users heading to faraway destinations such as\u00a0Perlis, Kedah, Penang, Perak (North), and\u00a0Johor, to enter the highway earlier which is before 10 am. It is best for those heading to\u00a0nearer locations or states to enter the highway before 1 pm,\u201d he said in a statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Zakaria suggested motorists use the PLUS application, Waze, or Google Map to obtain a better travel plan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Motorists can obtain the latest traffic information via Twitter@PLUSTrafik, PLUS application, PLUSLine 1800-88-0000, Chatbot PUTRI, electronic message signs (VMS) at selected locations as well as follow the traffic report via leading national radio broadcast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Motorists must also ensure their vehicles are in good condition to reach their destinations safely to celebrate Hari Raya Aidilfitri with beloved families. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
