Among car interiors that are less prone to damage are car windows. However, damage to car windows can happen without warning.
One of the common problems with car windows is you cannot roll up or down the windows. Another problem is when any window gets stuck in the middle of the window frame.
Often, car windows start making problems when the car interior components – commonly for old or frequently-used cars – are worn out.
But do not worry, as Bjak will share three methods to fix your car windows.
Check the car fuse
First off, check your car fuse. A broken fuse is a common reason car windows get stuck. Replace the fuse with a new one and test whether you can roll your windows.
For your information, the function of a fuse is to disconnect the electric current to minimise the effects of a short circuit. Damage to a fuse can disrupt the entire power window.
If you still cannot roll your windows after changing the fuse, check other electrical parts in case of a short circuit.
Check the electrical voltage and switch of the power window
If the problem persists after changing the fuse, check the electrical system of your car’s power window. If you find that the current is not normal, but the battery voltage is in good condition, the power window’s switch may have become damaged due to a short circuit.
Therefore, you may have to replace the power window’s switch.
Check the window’s motor and regulator
If the above two methods fail, it is likely that the window’s motor or regulator is weak or has worn out.
Here is the solution. Replace the window’s motor with a new one. A window’s regulator moves a window through a power window’s motor. If the regulator is not functioning, it explains the problem with your windows.
Worn regulator teeth or loose mirror position connectors may also explain why you cannot raise or lower your windows.
Send the car to a workshop if the problem persists
We have shared three ways you can do when your car windows do not work. However, if your car windows still refuse to work, please send your car to a workshop to get them fixed, so you will not have any difficulty using them.
