The Ministry of Transport Malaysia announced moratorium extension updates for expired road tax and driving licenses from the previously suggested moratorium extension date ending September 30, 2021.
The latest update on road tax & driver’s license renewal
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong has recently announced an extension for road tax & driver’s license renewal to Dec 31 (overwriting the initial announcement by JPJ) stating in a media statement :
“The MoT acknowledges the feedback and difficulties faced by many recently when using public service such as JPJ during the Covid-19 pandemic.”
Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong
No actions will be taken during moratorium extension
Well, despite the road tax renewal and license moratorium in place, having valid/existing insurance is still a must.
“Holders of an expiring LKM within the stipulated period need to ensure their vehicles have valid insurance.”
“They should produce their insurance e-cover note for inspection.”
Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong
