    But not all vehicle owners know what documents they need to support their claim application, and this can lead to claims being rejected by the insurer after long waiting periods. Here we’ve compiled a complete list of all the documents you need when submitting different types of insurance claims. Read on to find out what they are.

    Own Damage Claims

    • Completed claim form;
    • A copy of the identity card and driving licence of the policyholder and the driver;
    • Details of estimated vehicle repair costs by the appointed panel workshop;
    • Copy of Hire Purchase Agreement (if applicable);
    • Vehicle permit – for commercial vehicles;
    • Goods Driving License (GDL) or Public Service Vehicle License (PSV) – for commercial vehicles;
    • Certified original copy of police report;
    • Vehicle Ownership Certificate/Vehicle Registration Certificate issued by JPJ (copy);
    • Copy of business registration certificate – for company registered vehicles;
    • Photos of accidents and damage to vehicles;
    • Police report stating the party compounded for the traffic offence;
    • Other supporting documents (if relevant).

    Own Damage Knock-for-Knock Claims

    • Completed claim form;
    • Certified original copy of police report;
    • A copy of the identity card and driving licence of the policyholder and the driver;
    • Details of estimated vehicle repair costs by the appointed panel workshop;
    • Copy of Hire Purchase Agreement (if relevant);
    • Vehicle permit – for commercial vehicles;
    • Goods Driving License (GDL) or Public Service Vehicle License (PSV) – for commercial vehicles;
    • Copy of Vehicle Ownership Certificate/Vehicle Registration Certificate issued by JPJ;
    • Police investigation report consisting of diagrams and plots;
    • Details of the policyholder and a copy of the other party’s police report;
    • Declaration to agree to lose the No Claim Discount if the claim does not meet OD-KFK Claim conditions.

    Windscreen Claims

    • Completed claim form;
    • A copy of the identity card and driving licence of the policyholder and the driver;
    • Repair bill/tax invoice;
    • Original certified copy of police report (if not replaced or repaired at a panel workshop);
    • Copy of Vehicle Ownership Certificate/Vehicle Registration Certificate issued by JPJ.

    Theft Claims

    • Completed claim form;
    • A copy of the identity card and driving licence of the policyholder and the driver;
    • Details of estimated vehicle repair costs by the appointed panel workshop;
    • Copy of Hire Purchase Agreement (if applicable);
    • Vehicle permit – for commercial vehicles;
    • Copy of Vehicle Ownership Certificate/Vehicle Registration Certificate issued by JPJ;
    • Certified original copy of police report;
    • Goods Driving Licence (GDL) or Public Service Vehicle Licence (PSV) – for commercial vehicles;
    • Copy of business registration certificate – for company registered vehicles;
    • Copy of AP permit – for imported vehicles or restored vehicles;
    • Other supporting documents (if applicable).

    Third-Party Property Damage

    • Request letter with details of claim amount;
    • Original certified copy of the police report for the policyholder and third parties involved in the accident;
    • Police investigation report;
    • Photos of accidents and photos (from) the police;
    • A copy of the identity card and driving licence of the policyholder and the driver;
    • Adjuster report;
    • Repair bill/tax invoice;
    • Details of estimated vehicle repair costs by the appointed panel;
    • Copy of third-party insurance policy;
    • Car rental agreement from a registered company for LOU claims;
    • Copy of Vehicle Ownership Certificate/Vehicle Registration Certificate issued by JPJ;
    • Other additional documents (if relevant).
