How To Check Roadtax Expiry Date

Introduction

One of the easiest things to forget? Your roadtax expiry date.
You might think there’s still time left, but next thing you know — it expired last week. The good news is, you don’t have to wait until a fine shows up. There are several quick ways to check your roadtax expiry date in Malaysia, both online and offline.

1. Check via MyJPJ (Most Accurate Method)

The MyJPJ app connects directly to JPJ’s database, so it’s the most reliable source.
Once you log in, tap “My Vehicle”, and you’ll see all your vehicle details — including your roadtax and insurance expiry dates.

2. Check on the Official JPJ Website

If you’d rather not download the app, you can check through JPJ’s official web portal.
Just enter your vehicle plate number and IC number, and the system will display your current roadtax status in seconds — whether it’s still valid or expired.

3. Check on MyEG

MyEG also offers a simple way to check your roadtax status.
After logging in, go to the “JPJ” section and select “Roadtax Check.”
You can also renew your insurance or roadtax directly on the platform if your expiry date is near.

4. Check Status on BJAK (For Renewals Made via BJAK)

If you renewed your roadtax through BJAK, you can view the latest status and validity period in your profile or confirmation email after purchase.
However, if you’ve never renewed via BJAK, the platform can’t display your expiry date — since only JPJ holds the official roadtax records.

5. Check Manually at JPJ or Pos Malaysia

For those who prefer face-to-face service, you can still visit a JPJ office or Pos Malaysia branch.
Bring your IC and car plate number, and the counter staff can check your official roadtax status instantly through JPJ’s system.

Conclusion

No matter which method you use, always check your roadtax expiry date early — don’t wait until you’re caught driving with an expired one.
If you renew through BJAK, your receipt and status will be sent directly to your email and WhatsApp, so you’ll always have a record.
But if you haven’t used BJAK before, MyJPJ remains the most accurate way to confirm your latest JPJ roadtax details.
