Warning Signs If Your Car Is In a Bad Shape

Your car is your lifetime investment. It conveniently transports you to go to your destination. Proper and regular car care and service can save you from suffering a handful of car damages that may cost you a fortune to repair.

Therefore, please make sure you always monitor your car for any sign of damage.

To your knowledge, there are several ‘warning signs’ that your car will send to show that something is not right. You must not ignore these signs and address them immediately.

    Signs of car troubles

Here are some signs that indicate your car damage.

    Difficulty starting

    Difficulty starting

Have you ever started your engine but then your car does not fire up? Or maybe the starter motor only cranks anaemically. Either way can give you a headache and ruin your day.

This could be a sign of many different things wrong with your car, including the battery, starter, faulty fuel, or ignition system. Do not ignore this problem because it could get worse and leave you stranded somewhere.

You are advised to inspect it right away to address the problem. If the problem is serious, you will need to take your car to a mechanic for a fix.

    Slow accelaration

If you notice that your car is slower than it used to be, that is a sign that your car is in bad shape.

It usually occurs during acceleration when the gas pedal is pushed down. Many things can cause your car to feel sluggish when accelerating. Most commonly may be due to spark plugs, damaged electrical components, fuel delivery, or air intake problem.

Please have your car serviced promptly for diagnosis and repair at the workshop.

    Fluid leaks

    Fluid leaks

Many different fluids may leak out of your car. Therefore, you need to be able to diagnose the leak.

The followings are among the many different vehicle fluids that your car may leak from.

    • Oil – a black puddle or stain
    • Brake fluid – somewhat bright and smells similar to fish oil
    • Gear oil – thick glob
    • Transmission fluid – a pink or red puddle or stain
    • Power steering fluid – a puddle that smells similar to transmission fluid
    • Wiper fluid – a bright blue or pink puddle or spot
    • Coolant – bright green, orange, or pink puddle

These leaks can cause your car to overheat or disable proper braking. We hope your car does not come across any of these leaks. However, if you spot any leakages out of your car, please refer to an expert to address the problem.

    Suspicious noisy or squeaky brakes

Always keep your ears open for unusual sounds when braking. Please have your car check if you hear any noises like rattling, squealing, or grinding.

Other than that, there might be a humming noise that probably comes from the fuel tank. It means that there is a leakage in the fuel line which can easily lead to a fire.

    Excessive smoky exhaust

    Excessive smoky exhaust

The main reasons for smoke from an exhaust can vary depending on your car and its condition. It could refer to the oil leak or engine damage.

Different colours of smoke can appear from an exhaust from time to time. They are usually black, blue, grey, or white.

If you started to notice smoke coming from the exhaust on a more frequent basis, please note that it could be a sign of something more serious.

    Vibrations

The vibrations can be caused by many different things. For example, they can emerge from components such as wheels, brakes, axles, and engines.

Make sure to get your car checked out if you feel the vibrations while driving.

Do not put them off as they can cause further damage to your car.

Always be alert and monitor your car

Please take care of your car by ensuring it functions properly by time. A regular check enables you to spot your car problem immediately. That way, you will be able to address the problem sooner and prevent further severe damage.

We hope you find this helpful to guide you better in taking care of your car smoothly and safely for the long run!
