Are you planning to use public transportation like the train to go back to your hometown on this year’s Aidilfitri?
Well, here is some good news for you!
KTMB provides 100,000 tickets
Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) is providing about 100,000 tickets for Electric Train Service (ETS) and KTM Intercity prior to Aidilfitri from April 23 until May 8.
KTMB chief operating officer Mohd Zain Mat Taha said the ticket sales involved 32 ETS and 22 KTM Intercity services.
As of April 7, almost 40% of tickets had been sold for the period from April 23 to May 8.
The travel tickets from April 29 to May 1 for the KL Sentral – Padang Besar route have sold out.
Additional train tickets if the demand is high
Mohd Zain said KTMB will consider providing additional trains for high-demand routes if ticket sales are encouraging.
He added that KTMB also increased the East Shuttle train service for the Gemas – Kuala Lipis – Gemas route from two to four services a day starting April 18.
Meanwhile, customers can enjoy additional group travel discounts of 25% through Pakej Keluarga Malaysia using the promo code KMKTMB22.
Going back to hometown? Don’t forget this checklist!
Inform your neighbour
Please inform your neighbour that you will be away for several days to go back to your hometown. Kindly ask them to watch over your house and inform you in the event of any suspicious movement.
Bring power bank
Please make sure to bring along a power bank if you are using a mode of public transport like train or bus. Your smartphone’s battery may drain before you reach the destination.
This is to ensure that your mobile phone is always on. You may call your family members in case something happens on your way.
Bring snacks
It may take a while to reach your destination especially if you use public transport.
We do not wish for any problems to arise but technical problems like delay and breakdown can happen. It is better to prepare snacks like bread, and canned drinks for buka puasa.
Switch off electric
Please ensure to switch off all electrical sources if you leave your house vacant. We do not want any fire-related incident to occur.
Lock the house
Don’t forget to lock your house, including all doors and windows. Keep them secured to avoid possible theft during your absence.
Have a safe travel
We wish you, by all modes of public transport, to have a safe journey going back to your hometown.
Have a divine Aidilfitri with your loved ones!
