The long-awaited Eid Mubarak vibes are finally here once again after two years gap of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Last year, interstate travel was not allowed to contain the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic. But this year, the ban has been lifted, thus allowing Malaysians to go back to their hometown for a splendid Raya celebration with families.
Estimation of 2 million of vehicles to hit PLUS Highway for Eid Mubarak
This year’s Eid Mubarak is estimated to fall on May 3, a Tuesday.
Plus Malaysia Berhad (PLUS) is estimating increased traffic from 1.6 million to 2 million road users during Raya from 29 April until 9 May.
PLUS managing director Datuk Azman Ismail advised motorists to plan their journey early to avoid traffic congestion moreover during the last few days of Ramadan.
Azman said there could be an increase by 25% or 2 million vehicles from 29 April until 9 May, compared to its usual daily traffic of 1.6 million.
He said PLUS will issue a Travel Time Advisory (TTA) to help road users plan their journey during the festive season.

Service your car
Please have your car services before you start your journey heading back to your hometown. Do not take it lightly and assume your car is good to go for a drive.
Check the tire, engine oil, air-conditioner, battery, lights, and others to ensure your journey is smooth. If you are unsure about car maintenance, send your car for a check at a service center. Set an appointment so you don’t miss out!
Reload ‘Touch ‘n Go card
Don’t forget to reload your Touch N’ Go card to avoid congestion at the tolls due to insufficient balance. You can reload it online using the Touch ‘N Go e-wallet application on your smartphone.
Don’t wait until the last minute to avoid any complications on the road.
Make sure insurance and road tax are still active
Please make sure your vehicle is covered with insurance coverage and has a valid road tax for a long-distance journey. In addition to avoiding summons at a roadblock, you are also protecting your car in the event of an untoward accident.
