Toll-free trips but PLUS Users Still Need to Tap Touch ‘n Go card

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has previously announced toll-free or discounted trips up to 50% on 30 local highways nationwide on April 30 and May 1.

The free toll provision involves the North-South Expressway under PLUS Malaysia and the East Coast Expressway (LPT) under Anih Berhad and other highways connecting them.

Meanwhile, toll-free travel on the North-South Highway and LPT are on May 7 and 8. Discounts up to 50% are also available on other highways on the same date and time for all vehicle classes.

    Tap Touch ‘n Go card

Following the announcement, Managing Director of PLUS  Datuk Azman Ismail has reminded the highway user to still tap the Touch ‘n Go card at the toll plaza.

It is to enable PLUS to record the traffic data. He ensures no amount will be deducted from the card.

“Those who prefer to use RFID must only use the RDIF lane when entering and exiting the highway.

“Likewise, there will be no toll deduction from their eWallet.”

    Check your card balance

Meanwhile, Touch n’ Go card users are advised to check their card balance beforehand.

This is to avoid traffic congestion at the toll plaza for using the inactive Touch n’ Go card.

“For Touch ‘n Go card users, please check their card status with Touch ‘n Go Sdn. Bhd at http://tngportal.touchngo.com.my/tngPortal/login.”

PLUS expects an increase in traffic from 1.6 million to 2 million vehicles in 10 days in conjunction with Hari Raya. The traffic starts from April 29 until May 9.

Oleh itu, the public may follow the suggested Travel Time Advisory to avoid massive traffic on highways. You may refer to the PLUS infographic attached below.
