What does BJAK's approval mean for customers?

BJAK maintains documented controls across operations, finance, compliance, data protection and technology. These areas are overseen by management and reviewed as requirements and risks change.

How does BJAK oversee risk and compliance?

Your payment and money

An authorised payment provider processes your payment. The insurance or takaful premium is used to complete your purchase with the selected provider. If roadtax is included, the relevant amount is used to complete the roadtax renewal process.

Where does my payment go?

No. Money collected for insurance or takaful purchases is kept separate from the funds BJAK uses for daily business expenses.

Does BJAK use customer money for daily operations?

Payments are matched against order records and the relevant insurer or takaful operator records. Funds are remitted according to the applicable settlement terms, including Cash-Before-Cover requirements where they apply.

How is money in the client account handled?

In most cases, another person may pay using their card, bank account or e-wallet, subject to the payment provider's checks. The policy is still issued to the registered vehicle owner.

Can someone else pay for my insurance?

Payment security and personal data

Payments are processed by authorised payment providers. Your payment details are entered through the provider's secure payment flow, while BJAK keeps the transaction reference needed to manage your order.

How is my payment processed securely?

BJAK does not keep your full card number in its order system. The payment provider processes the card details and returns a transaction result and reference.

Does BJAK store my full card number?

These details are needed to retrieve the correct vehicle information, No-Claim Discount and quotation information. They are also used to verify and process your purchase.

Why do you need my NRIC and vehicle number?

BJAK handles personal data in line with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 and applicable requirements. Staff access is limited according to job responsibilities. For data-related questions, contact dpo@bjak.my.

How is my personal data protected?

BJAK uses system monitoring, access controls, incident-response procedures and secure development practices. These controls are maintained by the engineering and security teams and reviewed regularly.

How does BJAK protect its systems?

Quotes, pricing and fees

Quotes from BJAK's panel are shown in random order by default. You can sort and filter them by premium, coverage, takaful options, approval availability and other preferences.

How are quotes compared fairly?

Within the comparison panel, an insurer does not receive a higher default position because it pays BJAK more. Customers remain in control of the sorting and filters they use.

Does an insurer pay to appear first?

Insurers assess risk and pricing differently. Your vehicle, No-Claim Discount, selected coverage, add-ons and current insurer rates can all affect the final premium.

Why is my price different from my previous renewal notice?

Before payment, you can review the premium, No-Claim Discount, applicable tax, roadtax, optional add-ons and any payment-provider fee. The total is shown before you confirm.

Are there hidden fees?

BJAK may receive a commission from the insurer or takaful operator when a policy is purchased through the platform. Any separate instalment-provider fee or optional service charge is shown before payment.

How does BJAK make money?

What happens after payment

We verify your order details and payment, check whether additional information is needed, and submit the order to the selected insurer or takaful operator. You will receive updates when the policy is ready or when action is required.

What happens after I pay?

Not always. Payment confirms that the order can proceed for processing. Coverage starts according to the policy or cover-note effective date issued by the insurer or takaful operator.

Does payment mean my policy is already active?

Once ready, policy documents and order updates are sent through the contact channels provided during purchase, such as email and WhatsApp. You can also check your policy status through BJAK.

How do I receive my documents and updates?

After a successful roadtax renewal, you can check the digital roadtax through MyJPJ. BJAK will also provide order updates through its available status channels.

How do I check my roadtax?

Delays and unsuccessful orders

Common reasons include mismatched identity or vehicle details, missing vehicle photos, an unconfirmed No-Claim Discount, insurer review, or temporary system issues.

Why is my policy not active yet?

Roadtax may be delayed if the insurance is not yet active, vehicle records do not match, there is a JPJ or PDRM restriction, or a relevant system is temporarily unavailable.

What can delay roadtax renewal?

Your bank may place a temporary hold when a payment attempt is not completed. The release time depends on the bank or payment provider. Contact BJAK support if the amount is not released within the timeframe stated by your bank.

My bank deducted the amount, but the payment failed. What should I do?

BJAK will first try to resolve the issue or request the missing information. If the relevant insurance, takaful or roadtax service cannot be completed, we will explain the issue and arrange the applicable refund.

What happens if my order cannot proceed?

Refunds and cancellations

If a refund applies, BJAK will provide a secure refund-request link. Submit the required details so the order and payment can be verified before the refund is processed.

How do I request a refund?

BJAK processes verified refund requests according to the timeline stated in the current Refund Policy. The time for the money to appear in your account may vary by bank and payment method.

How long does a refund take?

BJAK does not charge a refund-processing fee when an order cannot be completed. If an active policy is cancelled, the insurer or takaful operator may apply its own cancellation terms.

Is there a refund-processing fee?

You may request cancellation, but eligibility, refund amount and processing time are determined by the insurer or takaful operator under the policy terms. BJAK can help submit and follow up on the request.

Can I cancel after my policy is active?

BJAK will send updates through the contact details linked to your order. You can also contact customer support to check the latest refund status.

How do I track my refund?

Eligible BJAK VIP customers can receive guidance on the claims process, towing coordination and insurer follow-up, subject to the benefits and terms of their plan.

Can BJAK help with an insurance claim?

Contact BJAK first so our team can review and resolve the issue. If the matter remains unresolved and is eligible, you may refer it to the Financial Markets Ombudsman Service.
