What does BJAK's approval mean for customers?

Clearer information and fair treatment

As an approved financial adviser, BJAK is expected to give customers information that is clear, relevant and not misleading. Customers should be able to understand the product selected, the amount payable and the main steps involved before confirming a purchase.

BJAK must also maintain processes for handling complaints, correcting issues and escalating cases that cannot be resolved through normal support channels.

Financial and operational controls

Approval comes with requirements relating to financial resources, professional indemnity protection and internal controls. BJAK must keep suitable records and maintain processes for managing customer payments, operational risks and regulatory responsibilities.

These controls support the service, but they do not replace the insurer's own underwriting, policy issuance or claims decisions.

What BJAK is responsible for

BJAK helps customers compare available products, submit information, make payment and follow the progress of an order. BJAK also provides support when further information is required or when an order cannot proceed.

What insurers and authorities are responsible for

The selected insurer or takaful operator decides whether to issue the policy and what terms apply. JPJ and PDRM records may affect roadtax processing. Payment providers and banks are responsible for their own transaction processing and settlement steps.

Important clarification

Approval does not mean every insurer is shown, every quotation will be available or every order will complete immediately. Eligibility, pricing and approval still depend on the customer's details and the relevant provider's requirements.
