How is my personal data protected?
What information BJAK collects
BJAK collects information needed to provide quotations, verify the customer and vehicle, process purchases, service policies, handle roadtax requests and provide support. This can include identification details, contact information, vehicle information, policy information and transaction records.
Why the information is used
Personal data is used for clear business and legal purposes, such as:
- Preparing insurance or takaful quotations
- Confirming vehicle ownership and No-Claim Discount
- Processing a policy or roadtax order
- Sending documents and status updates
- Handling support, complaints and refunds
- Meeting regulatory and record-keeping obligations
Who can access it
Staff access is based on the responsibilities of each role. People who do not need certain information for their work should not have access to it. Access rights are reviewed and removed when no longer required.
Who else may receive the information
Information may be shared with insurers, takaful operators, payment providers, JPJ-related service providers and other parties involved in completing the requested service. These parties receive the information needed for their part of the process.
